In a head-to-head showdown of AI chatbots, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot, Google’s Gemini, Perplexity, and Anthropic’s Claude were put through their paces to see how they handle real-life questions and everyday tasks.
While we were on the lookout for the Caitlin Clark of chatbots, what we found was a mixed bag of strengths and weaknesses, with each bot excelling in some areas and falling short in others. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the well-known ChatGPT that topped our list, but rather the lesser-known Perplexity that emerged as the champion.
Despite the big names behind them, Microsoft’s Copilot and Google’s Gemini had to fight hard to stay relevant. As AI technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, it’s clear that these bots will keep leapfrogging each other, making the race for the best chatbot an exciting one to watch is Perplexity and Anthropic’s Claude. We put five of the leading bots through a series of blind tests to determine their usefulness. They excel in some areas and fail in others. Plus, they’re all evolving rapidly….

Sam Altman, once briefly ousted as CEO of OpenAI, has emerged more powerful than ever just seven months later. After a short-lived departure, Altman not only returned to his role but also managed to eliminate his primary adversaries within the company.
He is now driving significant changes, including a potential overhaul of OpenAI’s nonprofit structure to better align with its burgeoning multibillion-dollar revenue business. There’s even talk of transforming OpenAI into a for-profit corporation, a move Altman has reportedly discussed.
Investors are keen on seeing Altman receive an equity package to align his interests with the company’s success. In a major win, Altman has also secured a deal with Apple to integrate OpenAI’s conversational AI into its products, a partnership that could be worth billions if successful.….
